This is month is a month of many Public Holidays! Every Monday is a Public Holiday for 3 consecutive weeks! The first being 2nd September, this coming Monday, 9th September and next Monday 16th September. August and September is the time when we celebrate Malaysia's Independance Day on the 31st of August and Malaysia Day on the 16th of September. This was the day that the Malaysian Federation was born! Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore joined together to create Malaysia. However after 2 years, Singapore decided to part ways.
Anyway, this week I decided that I was going to get this post competition post done on a Saturday following my failure last week to post due to HF 21 and 22 (I think)??? Ok at least HF 21. Nothing seemed to work and as the seconds ticked by, I was tearing my hair out. I finally gave up when the clock hit 12 midnight and went to sleep disappointed that I had missed a chance to add to the draw.
So how did I get my steps today? Our weekends are generally packed full of family related activities and house chores generally. Things that we don't get to do during the week gets pushed to the weekend especially my kitchen sink. It's a good thing that I don't cook during the week days but somehow dishes and cups seem to find their way into the sink! Arrgh... The day started off later than usual because we didn't make it to football. Usually we would be up by 7am but I didn't roll out of bed until nearly 8 am. The boys both woke up not long after and I was busy making breakfast for them. It was half boiled eggs for little Murtabak and french toast for the rest of us. Of course they both wanted to "HELP" and "COOK" After nearly an hour and a lot of screaming everyone got to eat! LOL! Soon it was time to shower and head to the hospital for me and hubs and the kids would head off to the airport to pick up their auntie from Penang who decided to fly down for the weekend to celebrate Kung Kung's (Grandpa) birthday!
My mum is back in the hospital again because on yesterday she was scheduled for an operation to relieve her carpal tunnel syndrome. Unfortunately, her right hand was swollen and the doctor's suspect some sort of infection and what's worse, she was coughing our green coloured phlegm. So she is on IV antibiotics to help control the infection and hopefully she can go home by next week. I headed to the hospital during lunch time to keep her company and help where I could. My Dad has already arrived when I got there. It was nice just sitting down and chatting together as a family which made me realise that we don't do enough of that. My excuse is the kids of course but I guess not being intentional about time with family is the main reason. Got me thinking...does someone has to end up the in hospital before we do simply things like that?
As usual I always manage to pick up a lot of steps because of the long long walk to the building from the carpark and also from the lifts to the wards. I had another excuse today to do even more walking because it was the Day of Dragons in Wizards Unite!! This is a super special 4 hour event only when dragons appear! In my part of the world I had the opportunity to catch the Antipodean Opal Eye and the Chinese Fireball!! A bunch of game crazy people like me were going out of our way to catch as many as we could! A lot of walking indeed. I think the people at the hospital were wondering why I was just walking up and down the corridors multiple times over 2 hours! Oh well...who cares right? 2 pm came around too soon and I didn't catch as many as I would have liked to.
Our next stop was Waka Waka World for a friend's son birthday celebration. The boys were really excited of course because they got to go crazy at the play land. Honestly just watching them was enough to make you tired! Where do these kids get their energy from? I do envy them sometimes...
At about 6 pm we had to start the process of leaving the place as we had to got for dinner to celebrate another birthday which was their Grandpa's birthday. 84 years old this year and we are hoping many more years after this. The boys wanted and ice cream cake! (Hahaha, I wonder whose birthday it's supposed to be??) So it was up to me to stop by Baskin Robbins and I decided to get Love Potion! The ice cream is yummy indeed. Vanilla ice cream with raspberry swirls and chocolate pieces! The combination of sweet and sour was perfect. We devoured the pizza and cake like we hadn't eaten for days! The boys then played with their grandparents whilst I worked hard on the manual curation for the @steemitmamas.
All in all it was a great day that I managed to pick up more than 15,000 steps and we got to spend time with people who are important to us! What a fantastic start to my long weekend! I am looking forward to just chilling out on Sunday! Still a heap load of curating work to do, not to mention my own Road to Steemfest Post too! Arrghh!! Holiday? What holiday?
Thanks for stopping by my little space!
