This is harana, an old-Filipino tradition where a man serenades the woman he is courting as a profession of love. The man is usually depicted in media with a guitar, or having companions singing together as one. At present times, I am not sure it this is still practiced by Filipino men, as the tradition of courtship before entering into a relationship is not as prevalent as before. Greatly influenced by Western cultures, men and women ditch the courtship stage and involve themselves right away with the other party and see if it will eventually blossom into a more serious relationship.
