Teaching myself some Korean language

in blog •  7 months ago

Well I was a little bored last night so out of boredom I decided to teach myself to learn how to read and write Korean. XD

I was contemplating between learning Korean or Japanese since I spend most of my free time watching Anime or Korean variety shows so might as well learn the language as to not rely on 'English subtitles' that much. Hopefully I would soon be able to watch raw episodes so that I could spoil my friends on how the upcoming episodes would go. XDv

Anyways, after seeing a few online lessons on their writing system, I've decided that Korean is easier to learn (I think XD) because of how simplistic and straightforward their writing is ('hangul').

So today, I have already learned the 10 basic vowels and at least 4 consonants. I did take a quick look and there are around 40+ characters in total including the diphtongs but I am taking my time to master learning the following characters first. XD

I still sometimes confuse 'ㄱ' with 'ㄴ' but I think I would get used to it in no time. XD

It would also take some time before I'm getting used to when to say 'k' or 'g'. Like I would say 'aki' instead of 'agi' for the korean word for baby '아기'.
