Dear brothers and sisters in Christ

The Golden Censer is a source of blessings for the faithful and friends of the HeartChurch community, since it gives us a daily Bible verse, with which we can then meditate and pray for our daily devotional.

Today the Golden Censer has given me a verse from the book of Kings, in which Joash instructs the priests on the use of the money received as an offering for the temple to be used for its maintenance and repair.

The temple as a physical space represents the place where we will gather to praise and adore the almighty God in union with our brothers in our community, having as a common table the altar in which the sacrifice of Christ, his passion, death and Resurrection is remembered.

Christ on his visit to the temple said to the Pharisees:

"Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days." Johnn 2:19

Thus Christ anticipated at that time his Resurrection and the scandalized Pharisees at that time did not understand his message, associating it with the physical temple.

Christ is the stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone, this is the work of the Lord and admirable in our eyes. Matthew 21:42

The abode of the Lord is kind, my heart and soul leaps for joy before the living God. Happy are those who dwell in the house of the Lord, to praise Him unceasingly.

10 Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
the Lord bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold
from those whose walk is blameless.
12 Lord Almighty,
blessed is the one who trusts in you.
Psalm 84

Amen.

Memo:

Joash said to the priests, “Collect all the money that is brought as sacred offerings to the temple of the Lord—the money collected in the census, the money received from personal vows and the money brought voluntarily to the temple.
(2 Kings 12:4)
