Hello 🐝lovely🐝bees🐝! It’s Friday 21st August 2020!! In our little village in central France Friday is Market day. And it is #MarketFriday here on #Hive!

So yesterday we had a family of 4 leave. They had two rooms. We were supposed to have a family of 6 arrive (also two rooms). We spent the morning cleaning and the afternoon rearranging the rooms.
But the family didn’t show. I sent a text message at 3pm asking what time they would arrive. At 6pm I called them as I hadn’t heard anything. The woman said they were going to eat at a restaurant and then had a “meeting” at 8 so weren’t sure. I had a bad feeling… I phoned at 9.45pm. The man answered and basically told me they had found rooms in another place. He tried to pretend that it was a mistake and he thought it was the place he had reserved (different village, different sounding name of hotel, bigger hotel). I was not happy and made that clear. He hung up and turned off his phone.
Some people are arseholes.
We are a small business (only 3 rooms) so when someone reserves two of them and doesn’t show it hurts us quite a bit. Especially in the current climate.
Luckily, his answerphone message revealed he is a vet and the name of his practice so we have found the address to send him the bill! I’m sure it will come to nothing, because people like that only care about themselves.
Anyway, here are some pictures I took of the market this morning.
From Monday (just gone) it is obligatory to wear masks in open-air markets like this one in our area. It was annoying to see there were some stallholders who were not doing so.

@felt.buzz I had a little trouble with your video, which is a first for me. I have never had a problem with it before. Stopped three times and resumed eventually. Not a huge problem, just letting you know.
I can't help but be annoyed for you regarding the veterinarian and his family! how rude! I would like to schedule something at his clinic and never cancel and see if he feels the sting. Of course, two wrongs don't make a right, but, I cannot help thinking that people like this feel better than me. I would bill him and I hope if it does nothing else, it makes him feel like he was wrong. You don't get a credit card when they reserve? I have never been to a place that didn't. Right in the contract, it always says a no show will be charged for the night. Period. This way, you always get your money... and people always have credit cards.
If this happens much, I would change how you reserve. Again! How rude!!!
And the market vendors not wearing masks? I would think they would worry a little more than that, but, I am so wrong. Ours must wear them or they will be given the boot. :)
