Below is my five minute #freewrite on today's prompt: race car

If you've never written a Freewrite before please visit today's post by @mariannewest
I've had some great cars in my 62 years on this earth, but I've never owned a race car. I've had quite a few fast cars, but I've always been able to get in and out of them. I wouldn't be able to fit in a race car or a go cart, they just ride too low to the ground. My lowest riding car was a 1967 Jaguar E-Type 2+2 4.2 liter beast.
I bought that car when I was 19 years old for $3500. I was probably the only grocery cashier with an XKE, and when I parked it outside of the Handy- Andy, people would inquire who owned that Jag, my coworkers would point to me. I had that car for almost 20 years, before I sold it to a guy from Canada. I wonder what ever happened to that car. Have a safe weekend Freewriters.

Thank you so much BD.

That care is nice. Sadly, it didn't end up in the hands of anyone from my Canadian family.

It was a nice shock to get paid in Canadian cash. I had to go to the airport to exchange it. He also gave me this huge opal custom 14kt ring.

The ring seems need. Odd that he would bring so much cash with him. I suppose exchanging money is so much easier now. Most of the states I visited with my Canadian funny money were northern border states so they were more familiar with Canadian cash I guess.

You have really authentic set of wheels.
I do wish I have more respect for such beauty but for me, cars are a mode of transportation that gets me from point A to point B.
So, I never believed in spending too much on a car but I do prefer to purchase a brand new car than a remodelled or second hand; at least I don't have to worry about spare parts for the first 5 years.

Yes those spokes were very hard to clean. 👍

Cool Jag.. I've been in the same position as far as thoughts go about "where is she now?" I owned a Jeep CJ7 for quite a while and sold her to a guy a state over. I often wonder what has become of her..

Yes, it's very hard to let our babies go.

What a beauty! Hope it has been taken care of and it is still running!

Hi Buddy!

Happy to see a familiar face.

I wonder if you can help me. I am trying to post something here but am getting this message.

I don't know what to do or whom to ask for help.

Thank you!
