Reading passage:- John 15:1-2
1.I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2.Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
What does it mean to be fruitful?
It means being productive in any sense that is yielding benefits.
I stop to ask are you fruitful?
Are you productive?
Are you bringing forth benefits?
The criteria to escape being cut down according to our reading passage is that you must yield fruit, that means you must be productive. When a man marries he expect a baby from his wife (that's fruitfulness) so in that same vein God needs us to be fruitful, he can't spend all his resources on us and we aren't adding to his kingdom.
Or don't you know that has a Christian you ate suppose to depopulate the kingdom of darkness and rather populate the kingdom of God? If you never then know it now.
This population of the Kingdom of God is made easy by the way you dress, talk, eat, and live your life in general, your way of life can attract souls to God's kingdom. Another way to populate the Kingdom of God is to preach the gospel.
Imagine having a grown up child that you sent to school and expecting him or her to in turn come and take care of you and the other siblings but rather the reverse is the case he or she still feeds from you and finished up the little that would have been use to take care of the rest of the siblings.
If our earthy father needs us to be productive and yield fruit how much more our heavenly father God.
May God help us, Amen.
I am glotokens
