How to Assess "Factors that affect Pupils' Academic Performance" - Questionnaire Guide Questions

Hello teachers, students, and researchers, I am here again today, Tuesday, 7th April, 2020, to share a guide on how to assess factors that affect pupils' academic performance through research.

The school is a system that consists of various components. These components interact with one another on a daily basis. These interactions may yield either positive or negative outcomes depending on their substitutes. The said components may include students, teachers, parents, school environment, host communities, school management, among others.

Of all components of the school, the learners are at the center and an unchecked interaction of other factors may inhibit learning. One of the ways of checking whether learning is enhanced or not is the academic performances of the learners. This makes researches on academic performance very crucial.

The main àim of education is to transform the learner in knowledge and and character towards a better society. This calls for a regular check on the check on the factors that may possibly affect the learning tendencies of the learner thereby affecting his or her academic performance. This is therefore a tool to guide the measurement of factors that may affect pupils' academic performance".

I have put in over seven years into educational researches, and I have discovered that it is a popular problem among research students to be able to construct their instruments for collection of data even when this is a major component for the success of the research. In the coming days, I would be sharing more research guides and tips for students and teachers. This is my way of supporting the @Steemiteducation and the #Education-Hive community.

I decided to put below the following guide questions for a researcher who is interested in working on a topic related to "factors that affect pupils' academic performance".

Questionnaire Items to assess factors that affect pupils' academic performance.

  2. Our teacher takes us out on field trips to learn concepts from natural environment
  3. Our teacher uses demonstration in explaining concepts in his/her subjects
  4. Our teacher encourages us to work cooperatively in groups when we are learning
  5. Our teacher tells us facts of the lesson most of the times.
