Good day freewriters! Here is my music themed entry for the freewrite prompt "concert". This 5-Minute Freewrite Challenge was initiated by @mariannewest. Everyone are invited to join in this challenge by checking her profile for the daily prompt, and @freewritehouse.
It is rare to see a fan who will always support their favorite singers as long as they're alive. Solo artists or groups won't have a career for their lifetime as they either retire or disband. But I knew someone who's a big fan of Backstreet Boys, and she's still supportive of the band by buying their albums. She even watch the "concerts" of the band.
Backstreet Boys may not be as popular as they was before, but they still sell. However, each member of the group had solo efforts, though they failed the same success as they did as a group. Let's check each member's ventures in the entertainment industry:
Nick might have been the most successful among the band based on chart placement. His first album "Now or Never" was believed back then to compete with Justin Timberlake (knowing both of them are the most popular members of rival boybands NSYNC and Backstreet Boys), though the latter became more successful. Still, "Now or Never" reached number 17 in Billboard 200, and achieved Gold. He released subsequent solo albums but they all flopped, while his collaboration with Jordan Knight went top 30. His most successful song was "Help Me", a number 17 hit in UK, but it didn't chart in the US.
Howie released his solo albums too, but none of them charted in Billboard charts. His first album "Back to Me" charted in Japan though, and the only song I heard from him is his song with Filipina singer Sarah Geronimo.
Brian took the Christian music route, where he succeeded with his album "Welcome Home". The record reached number 74 in Billboard 200.
AJ released his solo efforts too but he didn't chart in the US. His album "Have It All" charted in Japan at number 31. Just like bandmate Howie, Japan has been their solo efforts' fanbase. That's because Backstreet Boys is very popular in the country up to this day.
Kevin also had his solo album, however, it wasn't released.
