Ever since the day I stumbled upon the Steem platform (December 2017), I never once thought of doing a powerdown... until Justin Sun came to Steem.
At first I gave him the benefit of the doubt cause who would buy something only to destroy it, but after seeing him changing the narrative of what really happened here on Steem (like calling the community-elected-witnesses 'hackers' made me sure that the guy's interest is not on Steem and probably only on his $$$.
Anyway, with HIVE coming this friday and with most (if not ALL) Steem developers moving to the new chain, I think it's the perfect time for me to experience what a powerdown feels like. XD
At the moment, I am only planning to powerdown half of my natural Steem Power (1,500 SP) while keeping the other half. If Justin will change the powerdown period after taking control of this chain, I would immediately powerdown the remaining stake cause I feel like the guy is planning to exit anytime soon. Added with the fact that the leading blockchain developers quit, not really sure what the future of Steem will be. At least HIVE has it's community. XD
As for what I would do with the powerdowned SP, I'd probably buy some of those sweet HIVE tokens once it's out or just buy some SM cards or buy a new desktop (I've been wanting to buy another one for years now).
Also sold all my DEC today so I can get more Steem for the airdrop. XD
