Coronavirus has finally reached to Australian soil. As of tonight, we have 4 confirmed cases in Australia with 3 Sydney carriers only confirmed late this afternoon. Since the outbreak of this virus, I have tried to avoid crowded places in particular with a more Asian community. With Chinese New Year and Australia Day long weekend, everywhere is packed around the country in particular suburbs with a high density of Asian community.
For our household, we will try to avoid crowded places, wash our hands more frequently, and most probably will start wearing masks on public transport when work resumes next week. I have also sent messages to my in laws and parents in particular to be diligent to where they go as their age is at high risk to the virus as many affected are the older generation. Fingers crossed we don't see more cases pop up in Australia but with the last direct flight from Wuhan touched down in Sydney 2 days ago, there may be a chance more cases will be reported in the coming week.
