Pimp Your Post #55 - 2 Steem Bounty

in payitforward •  11 months ago

Pimp Your Post

Pimp Your Post is Back for the 55th installment.

To make sure that there is time to see your comment and vote on them before the Bounty happens we are going to create an end time for entries. No entries after Saturday 11:59am CST (Chicago) time will be voted on. This will give us about 24 hours to make sure all entries are voted on.

To help encourage more engagement when there is extra Voting Power it will be used to reward those who are engaging with the posts featured here.

To let @pifc know you have engaged please leave a comment as a reply to the entry comment of other people saying that you visited their post, what you thought of it, and what level of engagement you did (comment, upvote, resteem). This will help us to know who to reward with extra votes.

Rules for Pimp Your Post:

This is the easy part and hopefully one that will bring you some added eyeballs to your posts. Remember nobody is forced to vote on your posts so make sure they are quality. If you post a link to a Actifit Report Card or other Spam type post don't expect any part of the Bounty as we will not upvote them. We support original content.

  • Leave a comment with the Link to Your Post, but also "Pimp It"...that is sell us one why to visit your post.

  • No Referral Links and Steemit.com links are preferred.

  • Support Others by Visiting their Posts and leave a reply to their comment that you did so.

  • Post needs to be 3 days old or less when you add your comment

Naturally we love your support and appreciate your votes and resteems!

Tag Someone

Know someone that you think would like more exposure to their posts? Then tag them and invite them to Pimp their Post.

As an added bonus a @steem-bounty of 2 Steem is being set on this weeks Pimp Your Post. @steem-bounty is a
great way for @pifc to be able to reward everyone at a higher level without burning up to much Voting Power or taking a ton of time to send out rewards for entries. This payout happens automatically just after post payout to all entries @pifc upvotes. @knircky is the brains behind @steem-bounty and he does a lot to help boost the contest posts allowing for higher rewards.

Staked Tokens

@pifc has started to build up a couple tokens to help add extra value to our community. Posts with #palnet, #neoxian, #creativecoin or #marlians will gain a small bonus as we have staked tokens from each of them. We are staking 100% of earnings for each of these tribes currently.

Tribe TokenStake

If any of these tribes prefer we not use their tag and/or not try and help expand the curation of their tag feel free to message @thedarkhorse on discord (#6765) or leave a comment below. Our goal in using the tag is to allow members of these tribes to have an extra way to earn rewards and more importantly gain exposure for their posts.

Your link isn't correct. Think you need to add the @ sign before your name and it would be fine. Don't think the tag category is needed in the link, but here is one that works for sure.

Oh boy thank you so much! 😊😊

That's the one major problem with partiko, they do their links different than everyone else.

Hey I read your post and upvoted. Good luck with your Steem journey, it seems to be a big focus for you.

Hi! Thank you for visiting and reading. Yes, it is a recap of my journey :))

Thanks for tagging me @iamraincrystal 😄

Good progress. (Already Upvoted and Commented yesterday.)

I just read and upvoted your post. Boy, did it bring back memories for me, from back when I was still trying to figure things out. Good to see you keeping on!

Thank you so much 😊😊

@iamraincrystal, Visited your blog. Stay blessed.

I keep forgetting to participate in this! Anyway, I begin a new story tomorrow, so here's some of the supplemental materials for it - the character guide. (It will have the chapter 1 link there as of tomorrow.) This post will remain pinned on my blog (Steempeak) throughout the book.

I'm excited to get started with this one.

Very exciting! Great idea giving all the information like that up front so people can reference it. I hate thinking I'm reading a characters name correctly only to find out later I had it wrong. Not sure why, but that drives me crazy.

I like to use foreign characters too - and keep it true to the language stolen from...
I know what you mean though - you realize that JK Rowling never intended the "t" in Voldemort to be pronounced? Like in the French!
Thanks for commenting.

That was one for sure that had me until the movie...lol

It reminds me of certain towns in Wales, whose names I refused to even attempt to pronounce until I was there - and could hear it for myself.

If you're having a rough day, or need to appreciate what you have in life, you will after reading my post:

Life is Precious #6 - The Station Nightclub Fire

I spent almost a week researching the story and most of the day writing and editing it. I thought there would be a lot of engagement, but so far no one has left a recollection or thoughts on life in general.

According to steemworld, the post is two days and 11 hours old at this moment, so I may have seen this post just in time.

It's tough to put so much effort in a post that no one see's, yet somebody posts 30 words with a pic of their dinner and gets 20 comments on it. Makes one wonder why they should put so much effort into crafting a well-written article. Where are the @curie curators? In over two years, I don't think I've ever been featured by them.

I'm thankful for my curation trails, so at least my writing gets some support. Somebody must remember where they were in early 2003 when they heard about the fire at the Station Nightclub, headlined by Great White. Please check my post out so I don't have to resort to publishing pictures of a ham sandwich. Thanks! :)

I read your post and upvoted. An interesting and well researched article. Although I would question your disgruntlement about the attention you think the post deserves.
From what I've learnt about building a social media audience over the years is that I have to focus on being my authentic self, ie not create posts that I think others will like that aren't true to myself. Also, just keep putting it out and trust that the right audience will respond.
Is it different here because everything is monetised? More high stakes? Probably.

Posted using Partiko Android

Thanks for your support. And that post was not created to appease a demographic. I see you're new, having joined in October. I've been here over two years and it's more about the body of work, not monetization.

Veterans know what I'm talking about, with low/no effort posts getting plenty of engagement while others were missed. We've lost so many great bloggers because of that. I don't expect a new person to get it, but thanks for checking my post out! :)

Veterans know what I'm talking about

Yes we do :(

Hope to see you coming back to our Pimp Your Post event each week. If you help support others here they are great about supporting and engaging with you. Do consider joining our Discord Channel if you haven't already and you can add a post per day in the promotion area with the requirement that you visit and support 2 other posts first. We are all about give first and then receive, and maybe more important about engagement and encouragement.

I like what you're doing here. It will attract new users to Steemit and help retain the current ones. Thanks! :)

Thank you for the kind words...and we really do believe that is what we are achieving here.

Hope you give the curation contest a try. It's a fun way to give back a little to the community.

Thank you for commenting on my post. However, I think I'm going to cease these heavily-researched high effort posts.

I have a deeply personal, epic post in development about the night I almost died at sea. I'm going to shelve it, as I'm perplexed at what makes these "posts of the week" lists.

Travel posts of pretty pictures taken by the water are what they seem to like. I've written good articles about domestic violence, psychopaths and now fire safety that never make these lists. I even follow the @curie curation trail, to no avail. I remain astonished that I had to come here to get comments on my post.

When I published it, I really thought it would spark a discussion about the widespread use of this flammable foam in the home.

Two days later, nothing. So I went over and viewed the pretty vacation pictures posts that do get featured, with many comments.

So, while I intend to remain engaged, I'm going to dial it way back and produce much shorter posts without all of the research effort as before, since I don't live in a picturesque area where I can take pictures of the beach. I live in PA in a gritty city that is not what anyone would call photogenic. Thanks again for your support! :)

I think that a large part of engagement happens when you are actively engaging on others posts. Then when you find good ways to tag people within the post to make ginabot notify them of the mention. I watch those that are the best at getting engagement and many found ways to tag others in the post drawing them into discussion.

It's an art for sure. I do feel long form posts are worthy of the effort, but as a mix with mainly shorter form posts designed for quick engagement with people. Attention spans seem to be short these days.

BTW, I am the person behind @pifc's comments.

Good article. (Upvoted and Commented.)

I think you are not alone on that. Sometimes I waste a lot of time doing a post and only bots respond. Other times I post a single photo and I get 10 replies or so. Maybe most people aren't interested in reading long posts?

Thanks, it's something to think about. However, I usually just write until the article is complete, rather than shooting for any word count. This and the Ghost Ship fire really affected me.

Commented & upvoted. Life is indeed precious. 👍👍

Part of the blog about my 9000km walk across Europe, this entry is from the early days when I was just getting going.
It's about the newness of Ukraine to my western brain and also the dissonance of entering town after camping out.

I just read and upvoted your post about visiting the Ukraine. I love your descriptive writing style which paint vivid pictures in the mind. I might have divided them into more paragraphs, but the writing was great. Well done!

Thank you, yes someone else mentioned that and I thought I'd done it more on this post. I shall have to subdivide again!
