Good morning all. Hope we all slept well?
Just wanted sharing the owed with you this morning before leaving to church.
Remember i said I am reading the new testament starting from Matthew.
So our focus today will be on chapter 5:1-20.
All the nine beatitudes comes with blessings attached to them.
There is none that has not be attached with some quality Blessings, so to enter the kingdom of heaven you have to be poor in spirit, the poor here doesn't mean lack of money but lack of the word of God, so if you know you are bankrupt of the word of God and you yearn to have or know it more then you are blessed and you will enter into the kingdom of God.
You and I are meant to add taste to people's life, so were we do not do it we are loosing our value on earth.
If we are salt of the earth then no one is permitted to come close to us and not being decorated with a sweet life, a life worthy of emulation. A life that People will wonder were the magic came from.
So stand up and add value, add taste to someone's life. If you lost your taste then you are of no use. Men will trample on you. Refuse men trampling, rise up and do something for someone.
Lesson 3 :- Again you and I are the light of the world verse 14
14.Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
And If you know you are the light of the world then you have to shine, shine so bright that men will see it and glorify your creator in heaven.
16.Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
I really get pissed off when people claim to be children of God yet their life doesn't show forth such.
The light here is your life, the life you pit up at your work place, school, office, church, social gathering etc.
The way you talk, eat, behave etc all consists in this life we are talking about.
You can't expect God to be seen your life by your friends or even your parent that are not born again but yet you say vulgar words, saying words I swear to God and all of sort. Some people will go as far as saying that it was a joke, were even the Bible has cautioned us not to joke, Ecclesiastes 5:4-5 says God is not a joker, so do not open your mouth and vow that you will do something and thereafter you say it was all a joke.
4.When you tell God you'll do something, do it—now.
God takes no pleasure in foolish gabble. Vow it, then do it.
5.Far better not to vow in the first place than to vow and not pay up.
So if your light must shine let it shine well.
Lesson 4 :-
20.For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
This passage reminds me of Matthew 6:1-8
The Pharisees pray for the world to see, they give for the world to see, they do all thing just for men to see, they are men pleasers and the bible says they will receive their reward on earth. Since they want men to see so then when men tells them thank you then they have received their Blessings.
That is why Jesus was now telling the people in chapter 5:20 that their righteousness should exceed that of the Pharisees. Because if you font consciously make your righteousness exceeds theirs then be sure you won't enter the kingdom of God.
