I would like to share about our dining experience, our dinner on Tuesday.
We were tempted to try the food which sold in a food stall in Teras Ganthari, Mahakam street.
Here how the food stall looked like
It only sold nasi pecel (pecel with rice, authentic dish from East Java).
There were some foodstalls around and also the dining area, it was modest and without air conditioner.
Here were our food.
It was nasi pecel, it was kind of Indonesian salad with many boiled vegetables (spinach, beansprouts, cassava leaves, cucumber), stirred tempeh, serundeng and peanut paste which served with the peanut paste. What made a different with gado-gado is peanut paste in gado-gado used lime squeeze while pecel used was kencur. And the special thing in pecel was the peyek (fried chips contained peanut with savory taste) that always served with it. Here, it was in mini bite size, not in the whole real size. The peanut paste in this pecel tasted sweet, savory and spicy. It was fresh. If you don't like spicy, don't try the pecel here, could be in any other place and don't forget to order not the spicy paste.
For two portions of nasi pecel we needed to pay 30,000 IDR or around 2.19 USD. No receipt here and only cash was accepted.
When you come to Jakarta, you could try the vegetable pecel too.
